English Oak Wood Beaded Platter

My favourite timber to turn is air dried English Oak - no question. It turns and finishes nicely, has wonderful grain, takes a finish well, and is relatively easy to get hold of.

This timber came from the National Trust, at the Ashridge Estate - timber which I air dried before use. It is lovely stuff, with wonderful character.

This platter has beaded sides to add character to it.

Size: approx. 2.8cm high, 18cm diameter.
