Some years ago I bought a few planks of American Oak Wood for another project, and I have a few pieces left, which I'm using up on these vertical sided bowls. Once used, I'll use English Oak exclusively - but it seems a waste not to use this timber.
I enjoy making these larger oak vertical sided bowls - the textured of the Oak wood comes through nicely on the sides of the bowl.
